2025 BMW X7 Review: Specs, Design, and Price

The 2025 BMW X7 is a great car to take your family wherever you go. While the BMW’s rear-most seats and cargo area aren’t as spacious as competitors like the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Mercedes-Benz GLS-class, it still has better driving dynamics and a great engine lineup. They range from a 375-horsepower turbo-six to a 523-horsepower twin-turbo V-8, the latter producing 630 horses in the top-level Alpina XB7 at maximum performance. All models have adjustable air suspension that provides a cushion-like ride and all-wheel drive.

2025 BMW X7 Interior Design

The BMW X7 dashboard is dominated by a large, slightly curved digital screen. This panel features a 14.9-inch touchscreen that controls the infotainment system as well as a 12.3-inch gauge cluster for the driver. The cabin also comes with many luxury options, such as heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a power-adjustable steering wheel, and ambient interior lighting. However, we were frustrated by how slow the second-row captain’s chairs, which are electric, moved when trying to let passengers in and out of the third row. Likewise, during long journeys, the rear seats are not very large to accommodate passengers. However, no one will complain about the X7’s generous interior storage. Even though it can only accommodate three carry-on bags behind the third row, we were able to fit a total of 33 bags.

2025 BMW X7 Performance Engine

The smallest rims on the 2025 BMW X7 have a diameter of 21 inches, but for the first time BMW also provides 23 inches. The sporty-looking M60i variant hit 60 mph on our test track in 3.8 seconds. Under hard throttle, the V-8 engine also makes a loud rumble. For a large SUV, the X7’s handling is surprisingly nimble, and the steering is precise and well-weighted. The xDrive40i’s turbocharged six-cylinder engine now produces 375 horsepower and up to 398 lb-ft of torque (up 67). However, the dual 4.4-liter V-8 and 48-volt hybrid models have been renamed the M50i and M60i, respectively, and are touted as a more effective method. The M60i has 630 horsepower, 18 more than before, but the reference Alpina XB7 has a more powerful mix.
